How do I register a camper?
The quickest and easiest way to register is by doing it online using a credit card. When you go to the session’s web page, click on the "Register” link above the camp information. You may also pay via check by mail.

Do I have to pay the full camp fee at the time of registration?
Petro Lacrosse Camps requires full payment at the time of registration.

When do you stop accepting registrations for camps?
Online registration generally closes a week prior to the start of the camp. All camp registrations are processed in the order in which they are received. 

Does Petro Lacrosse Camps offer any discounts on the registration fees?
Petro Lacrosse Camps does not offer any discounts on registration fees. NCAA recruiting rules prohibit us from offering scholarships or other financial aid to campers of prospect age.

May a camper pay a pro-rated fee if the camper is not attending the entire camp?
We encourage campers to attend our camps from start to finish; therefore Petro Lacrosse Camps does not pro-rate camp fees.

Are any scholarships or financial aid offered for the camp registration fee?
NCAA recruiting rules prohibit us from offering scholarships or other financial aid to campers of prospect age.

Can I hold a spot in camp for my child and then complete the registration later?
No, in order to reserve a spot in camp, a registration and the required payment must be submitted.

If a camp is full, do you have a waiting list?
Petro Lacrosse Camps is very popular. By registering online, if camp is full, you will be notified of your addition to the wait list. Openings come on a first-come, first-served basis.


How soon will I receive confirmation for a camp registration?
Online camp registrations are immediately processed and confirmed. Please look for important links in your confirmation email. Look for emails from To ensure you receive these emails, please add that address to your Safe Senders List.

I received an email stating that my child is registered for camp. When will we receive additional details and instructions about camp? 
An overview of camp details and instructions is included in your confirmation email. Additional details and instructions will be sent via email closer to the start of camp. Please take care to review all information prior to camp. Please check your email regularly, as this is our primary method of communication with campers and their parents. Any additional information that we need to convey as your camp draws closer will be sent to you via the email address that you provide on the camp registration.


When will we find out roommate assignments?
Roommate assignments will be released at check-in on the first day of camp. Each camper has the opportunity to request one roommate on his camp application. Such roommate requests will only be approved if BOTH campers request each other as roommates. While we do our best to accommodate each camper's request, we cannot guarantee that roommate requests will be granted. Please note that both roommates must be formally enrolled in the camp in order for such roommate requests to be considered. There will be two campers in a room. If your roommate request changes after you register for camp, please email us at no later than 21 days prior to the start of camp so we can make the appropriate change(s).

What residence hall will campers be staying in?
Campers reside in either the AMR Hall (Alumni Memorial Residence), Wolman Hall, or McCoy Hall. All residence halls are on the Homewood Campus within a short walk of recreation facilities.

Do you require campers to submit a key and damage deposit?
A $100 key and damage deposit per camper is required at check-in and will be shredded if the keys are returned at check out and no damages were reported. The camper will not be issued a room key, swipe card or meal card without this deposit. Please make checks payable to Petro Lacrosse Camps and write the camper name on the memo line. DO NOT MAIL KEY DEPOSIT – BRING TO REGISTRATION. 

My camper needs to arrive early/depart late/stay on campus between camp sessions. Will the camp provide accommodations?
Petro Lacrosse Camps is not able to provide accommodations for early arrivals or late departures. We can, however, suggest local hotels for your needs.


Are meals provided at camp?
Petro Lacrosse Camps provides three meals per full day. On the first day of camp, the first meal is lunch, and on the last day of camp, the final meal is breakfast.

Where do campers eat?
Campers eat at Johns Hopkins University dining facilities.

My camper has special dietary needs. Are you able to accommodate that, and whom should I contact?
Petro Lacrosse Camps is generally able to accommodate special dietary needs. Please email us at with any requests at least 21 days prior to the start of camp.

Does my camper need to bring water or other drinks to camp?
It is not necessary for your camper to bring water or other drinks to camp. Campers are provided a water bottle at check in and must bring it to all instructional sessions. We expect campers to practice proper hydration while at camp. Water is provided at all camp sessions and sports drinks are available at the Camp Store for purchase. The Gatorade G Series, including Gatorade Prime 01, Gatorade Perform 02 (original Gatorade) and Gatorade Recover 03 may also be provided at our camps. Please note that Gatorade Recover 03 contains whey protein and is not recommended for campers with milk allergies. For more information about the Gatorade G Series, please visit


Does my camper need to have a physical prior to attending camp?
No, we do not require a physical. However, every camper is required to submit a completed Parent Consent Form in order to participate in camp.

Is an athletic trainer available for the campers?
Yes, at least one athletic trainer is present at all times at all sessions.

My camper has special medical needs. Whom should I contact?
Please email us at with any requests at least 21 days prior to the start of camp.

Is health insurance required in order for a camper to enroll in camp?
Yes, health insurance is required for campers to participate in Petro Lacrosse Camps. Please provide proof of insurance with the Parent Consent Form.


Do you offer transportation from the airport to camp?
Petro Lacrosse Camps offers transportation to and from BWI Airport (Baltimore Washington International) for a fee of $25 each way. Those campers who have requested transportation from us will be picked up at the Southwest Baggage Claim Area (1-5) of BWI Airport. Our staff wears Hopkins Lacrosse T-shirts and has all flight information of arriving campers. The camper is to remain in the Southwest Airlines Baggage Claim Area (1-5) for pick-up. Campers will be dropped at his airline’s curbside check-in for departure on the last day of camp. Please Note: our staff will only provide pick-up at baggage claim and curb-side drop off at departure. We will incur absolutely no airport responsibility beyond drop-off. If your son is a minor, it is imperative you check with your airline to ensure he does not require adult supervision to and from the gate.



What should my camper bring to camp?
Each Camper must bring his own equipment. Petro Lacrosse Camps does not provide any equipment. The following equipment is mandatory for play: helmet, gloves, arm pads, shoulder pads, and mouth guard. Helmets must be worn at all times at playing fields. Each camper will receive a water bottle and reversible pinnie which must be used at all lacrosse sessions. Please refrain from bringing valuables to camp.

  • Sneakers and cleats (preference of shoes is up to the camper; sessions are held on both turf and grass.)
  • Recreational shoes/sandals (no cleats allowed in dining or residence halls)
  • Rain jacket
  • Jock, socks (8 – 10 pair should it rain)

When and where do I drop off my camper on the first day?

The drop-off and pick-up instructions, schedule, and locations will be provided closer to camp.

Where are the camps located?
Petro Lacrosse Camps are held on the Homewood Campus of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

What should I do if I am running late for, or will miss, the camp's check-in?
If you are aware of your need to check in late well ahead of time, please indicate this on your online registration. The day of camp, please call us at 607.221.3682 to notify us of when you believe you will be arriving on campus. We will provide you specific instructions for where to go.

Does my camper need to bring spending money?
While all meals are provided during camp, many campers like to buy apparel, gear or snacks at the Camp Store. For safekeeping reasons, we ask that each camper refrain from keeping cash in his room. Funds (cash only) may be deposited at the Camp Bank in the Camp Store at check-in. Campers must sign for each purchase from the Camp Store to authorize debits from his account. The Camp Store sells T-Shirts, shorts, snacks, drinks, limited lacrosse equipment, pizza in the evenings and raffles. All funds not used are returned to the camper on the last evening of camp.

Can parents stay and watch camp?
Petro Lacrosse Camps are open and parents may observe camp from a viewing area (not on the fields).


What is your refund policy?
A full refund less a $30 administrative fee will be issued for any cancellation received by at least 2 weeks prior to the start of each camp. The administrative fee and 5% convenience fee are not refundable for ANY reason. Because we have to guarantee our number of campers in order to prepare for camp, any cancellation received less than 2 weeks prior to the start of each camp will not be eligible for any refund.

Cancellations and refund requests must be submitted on the Refund Request Form. All cancellation notices must be received by the deadline above and submitted by mail or email - no phone calls or voicemails. All supporting documentation required for a refund to be approved and processed must be submitted within 10 days after the conclusion of the camp session. Campers who depart camp early for any reason will not be eligible for any refund.

What should I do if my camper cannot attend camp?
Please notify the Camps Office if your camper will be unable to attend camp, even if you will not be eligible for a refund. This will allow us to keep an accurate number of campers to expect for purposes of planning housing, meals, and staffing, and allow us to notify someone from the waiting list if necessary.

If my camper cannot attend camp, may I find someone to fill his spot?
No, a camp fee may not be transferred to any other camper.
